Dear Colleagues,

faculty are reporting to the Faculty Federation that their ad comp requests are being returned by HR with a comment along the lines of the following:

Recycling back. Please work with your Dean’s Office to confirm per unit rate and resubmit with per unit rate to reach goal amount.

In the recent contract negotiations , the Federation was able to get increases in the PTL stipend minima (and OCE stipends)

With effect the semester commencing on or after July 1, 2026, beginning with the third consecutive semester of service at the University: $1,789; for semesters 4 of 5 through and including semesters 9 of 10: $2,034; and for semesters 10 out of 11 or greater: $2,318.

For ad comp teaching in OCE, full-time faculty are paid at the highest PTL rate of $2,318 per unit, which is $6,954 for a 3-credit lecture course. While the CBA is silent on the ad comp stipend for teaching a “day” course, it is the Faculty Federation’s position that, since a course is a course is a course, full-time faculty should be paid at the highest PTL rate when teaching a “day” course.

Please use these numbers for the per unit rate and goal amount.  Hopefully this will allow the request to move to the later levels of approval.
