Dear Colleagues,

the Open Enrollment period for GIC health insurance begins today and runs through May 1.  The GIC Insurance Commission has provided some information in the email this morning.  For convenience the 2024-2025 Benefits Guide for Employees is attached.

Please know that this year’s Group Insurance Commission (GIC) premium increases are higher than in previous years. It is very important that subscribers under GIC plans review what they are currently enrolled in and consider other plan options during this open-enrollment period. Attached is a GIC enrollment guidance powerpoint presentation that the AFT-MA Health Insurance Advisor has put together.

An important reminder that the Dental and Vision Plan Open Enrollment period begins May 1.   Any changes in family status made to your health insurance must also be made separately to your Dental and Vision Plan Enrollment.   Stacey will be sending information about the Dental and Vision Open Enrollment in May.  If your home address has changed in the last year, please forward your new address to Stacey so she can update it with Amalgamated, the Dental and Vison Plan administrator, so the Open Enrollment package will be mailed to the correct address.
