Dear education advocates,

Exciting news! The Massachusetts House and Senate have approved FREE community college for all MA residents, as well as additional stipends for low income students. This is a huge win in our fight for a more affordable, accessible public higher education system!

Now, more students than ever will be able to jump-start their education with a 2-year degree. The program includes tuition for all non-degree holders as well as additional stipends for educational expenses for PELL-eligible, and lower earning students. We are thrilled to see so many more bright young students able to access this resource!

However, our work isn’t done yet. This means that we also have to work to protect the funding for community college budgets – ensuring that as the quantity of students increases, quality doesn’t go down. As the Governor looks to finalize the budget in the next week, can you take a minute to email or call her office pushing for adequate, proportional community college funding?

Call or email now!

As always, thank you for your dedication to our cause.

Sincerely,

Ella Prabhakar, PHENOM President
