Dear Colleagues,
an update on the salary increases.
Late yesterday the House passed Governor Healey’s bill H.4167 “An Act making appropriations for the fiscal year 2023 for supplementing certain existing appropriations and for certain other activities and projects”. This bill includes the funding for the 4% salary increases in July ’23 and January ’24 that have been negotiated. This now goes to the Senate for approval next week. We anticipate that the Senate will pass this quickly and it will then go to the Governor for signing.
Once this is done, the funds will be released and made available to the campus by the President’s Office. I have been assured by HR that they are ready to process the salary increases and do the retroactive pay calculations as soon as they have the funds in hand. This will also include the increases to the minimum stipend for part-time lecturers (HR has said that PTLs will also receive any appropriate retroactive pay) that the Federation obtained as part of the contract extension/salary increase negotiations in the summer. If the funds are released quickly, we may see these increases in the December pay periods.
In Solidarity.
